Introducting John Gustav "Gus" Peek!!!

Well, after starting at about 7amish, breaking water at 8:30am and pushing for 9 minutes...John Gustav 'Gus' Peek is here.

Born at 2:05pm

Weighing in at 8# 15 oz and measuring 21 inches long

Tomorrow...the big day!!

So we had our 39 wk appointment today. Total I've gained 17 pounds...exactly what I gained with Abi. I am at 3+ centimeters and she did all the fun stretching stuff to get me to start contractions on my own. I was sick this morning and think I pulled a muscle in my back so at moments when my back is killing me, the only way i know it's a contraction is by the tightening in my stomach...oh the joys! Anyways, tomorrow is the big day and so we will be starting at 6am. Dr. Barrett will be in at 8am to break my water and hopefully it should progress from there. I was about a 4-5 with Abi when she broke my water and Abi was born 2 1/2 hours later. So everyone send happy baby thoughts my way and I will update the minute I get home. If everything goes well tomorrow, I will be home Saturday morning mid-morning!!! My mom will be here tonight and I will post a lovely picture of the big ol belly tonight!

38 1/2 weeks...

Well, nothing new has changed with Gus. Still growing and getting HUGE! We had our appointment last Thursday and I didn't have her check me. I have tomorrow (Tuesday) watching Ben, and then I am done for a few weeks and ready to have GUS! I chose not to be checked Thursday just in case it put me into labor...NOW, not that I DON'T want to go into labor now, but I want to try to make it past Tuesday for the sake of my boss :o) (I'd hate to leave her high and dry without anyone to watch Ben!) Once I'm done though, I'm going to be doing all the running and jumping jacks I can. We are for sure going to induce at 6am on the 14th. My mom will be here Thursday afternoon if he makes it to Friday.
Now, a lot of people have asked why I'm choosing to be induced...my answer to that is simple...'I wanted to!' :o) I guess, all I can say, is that my doctor asked if I wanted to be induced a week early or if I wanted to go naturally. I decided that if he didn't want to come out before 39wks, he would be evicted for sure at 39 wks 1 day! Also, it makes life much easier for planning when my mom will be able to fly down, when my boss would need to come up with alternate child care, and just everything else! :o) So, we will keep you posted and my last checkup is Thursday morning. She will check me, stretch me and do whatever else to try to get things moving before Friday morning. I don't want to have him on the 13th (and it's not because of the whole number thing)...so the 14th is hopefully his for sure birthday :o)
